BODY 

Round 1: Dc in same st, *skp next 2 sts, vst in next st, skip next 2 sts, shell in next st*, repeat from * to * to last st, dc in last st, ch1, turn. (total 27 [30, 31, 34, 36] shells and vst)

Round 2: Dc in same st, *vst into middle of previous vst-sp, shell into middle of previous shell-sp*, repeat from * to * to last st, dc in last st, ch1, turn.

BUTTON HOLES 

Row 1: Rejoin yarn at the lower edge of the 2nd front, work from bottom to top, ch1, sc in same st, pick up 37 [45, 50, 54, 56] sc evenly across into the edge, turn.

Row 2: Ch1 (counts as a sc), skp 1st st, sc next st, *ch1, skp st, sc next 7 sts*, repeat from * to * 3 [4, 4, 5, 5] more times, ch1, skp next st, sc to end, turn. (5 [6, 6, 7, 7] button holes)

Row 3: Ch1 (counts as a sc), skp 1st st, sc each st to first ch-sp, * sc next ch-sp into buttonhole, sc next 7 sts*, repeat from * to * across to end, fasten off.

MAKE COLLAR 

Row 1: Rejoin yarn into 1st dc st of neckline, ch1, dc in same st, *skp next 2 sts, shell (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next st*, repeat from * to * around the neck line, dc in last st of neckline, ch1, turn.

Row 2: Dc in same st, shell in each middle of previous shell across to end, dc in last st, ch1, turn.

Rows 3 - 4: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Sew any holes under sleeve. Sew 5 [6, 6, 7, 7] buttons on the band.

BABY HAT

Ch4, slst to join in 1st ch. Make a magic ring. Now, working into the ring:

Round 1: Working into ring, ch5, *dc into ring, ch2*, repeat from * to * 6 more times into ring, slst into the beginning 3rd ch. (8 ch-sp)

Working into ch-sp, slst into 1st ch2-sp, *sc, ch1, 4dc, ch1, sc, slst into next ch2–sp*, repeat from * to * in each ch2-space around, slst. Fasten off.
