• Gauge: 4" / 10 cm = 20 sts in dc. 
• Sizes: To fit steering wheel diameter of 15.5" / 39 cm. Each square measures 3.5" / 9 cm.

Special Stitches

Popcorn Stitch

1. Work 4 double crochets in ring.
2. Drop working loop from your hook.
3.  Insert your hook in the 1st dc on your hook.
4. Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the 1st st.
5. Tighten the st to create the pc.

Notes

• Turning ch does not count as a stitch unless otherwise indicated

• Measure your steering wheel circumference and make the appropriate number of squares. Sample is shown with 12squares to fit a 15.5"/39 cm diameter steering wheel.

GRANNY SQUARE

Choose any combination of contrasting colors for each square. Make as many squares as needed to fit around your steering wheel.

 Round 1: Using CC1, MR, ch1, 12sc in ring, sl st to join. (12 sts)

Round 2: Attach CC2 in same st as join, ch3, dc in same st, *2dc in each st; repeat from * around, sl st to join. (24 sts) 

Round 3: Attach CC3, sc in same st as join, *ch3, sk 1, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, sl st to join. (12 loops)

Round 4: Break CC3, pick up CC2. Sl st across to first space, ch3, 2dc in same space, 3dc in next space, * (3dc, ch2, 3dc) all in same st (corner), 3dc in next two spaces; repeat from * around, sl st to join. (48 sts)

Round 5: Break CC2, join MC in any corner. Ch1, 3sc in corner, *sc across to next corner, 3sc in corner; repeat from * around, sl st to join. Fasten off and weave in ends. (60 sts) Fit the cover loosely to steering wheel to see if you need more or fewer squares.
