Round 1: 8sc in a Magic Ring. (8 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (16 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 8. (24 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 2, inc)x 8. (32 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 3, inc)x 8. (40 sts)
Rounds 6-13 (8 rounds): Sc 40.
Attach the eyes in Round 8, 16 sts apart.
Round 14: (Sc 4, dec, sc 4)x 4. (36 sts)
Round 15: (Sc 7, dec)x 4. (32 sts)
Round 16: Sc 32.

Stuff the Body.

Row 30: Flatten end of Body, aligning opposite sts; ch1 (does not count as a st throughout), insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers across row, turn. (4 sts)
Row 31: Ch1, 2hdc in next st, sl st 2, 2hdc in next st, turn. (6 sts)
Row 32: Ch1, 2hdc in next st, sc, sl st 2, sc, 2hdc in next st. (8 sts)
Cut the yarn and fasten off. Hide the yarn end inside the toy.
FINS (MAKE 2)
Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: Sc 2, (inc)x 2, sc 2. (8 sts)
Round 3: Sc 3, (inc)x 2, sc 3. (10 sts)
Flatten the end of the Fin, aligning opposite sts; ch1, insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers to close (5 sc total).
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the Fin to the Body.
ATTACHING THE FINS
Using sewing pins, pin the Fins to the sides of the Body between Rounds 11 and 15 of the Body.
Using the yarn tail from each Fin, sew the Fins on the Body.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
EMBROIDERING THE EYEBROWS
Using two sewing pins for each eye, mark where you want to embroider the eyebrows. Position them 1 st above each eye from Round 8 to 9 of the Body (see photo below).
Using the black cotton yarn, make a stitch between the marked sts.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
