Special Stitches

3dc Bobble - *yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops on hook; repeat from * two more times into the SAME stitch, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook. Make a chain to secure all stitches.

BODY AND HEAD
Round 1: 8sc in a Magic Ring. (8 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (16 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 8. (24 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 2, inc)x 8. (32 sts)
Rounds 5-10 (6 rounds): Sc 32.
Round 11: (Sc 2, dec)x 8. (24 sts)
Do not fasten off. You will now continue from the Body to shape the Head by working around a chain. See photos. Foundation Chain: Ch3, starting in 2 ch from hook, sc 2 in BLO.
Round 12: (Continue working in Round 11) Sc 24; working in other side of Foundation Chain, (inc)x 2; working back down other side, (inc)x 2. (32 sts)
Round 13: (Sc 3, inc)x 8. (40 sts)
Rounds 14-19 (6 rounds): Sc 40. Attach the eyes in Round 17, 14 sts apart.
Round 20: (Sc 3, dec)x 8. (32 sts)

Stuff the Body and Head.
Round 23: (Dec)x 8. (8 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn tail through each st of the last round and pull to close. Hide the yarn end inside the Body.
EARS (MAKE 2)
Round 1: In a Magic Ring, ch2 (counts as first dc), 5dc. (6 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing to Head.
MAKING HANDS AND FEET
Using sewing pins, mark 2 sts in Round 4, 9 sts apart, for the Feet and 2 sts in Round 9, 9 sts apart, for the Hands.
For each foot and hand, insert your hook in the marked st (see photo in downloadable PDF), pull up a loop of yarn, and make a ch. Make a 3dc Bobble st in the marked st.
Fasten off, leaving a yarn tail for securing the bobble to the Body. Using the yarn tails, secure the bobble by sewing it to the same marked st. Weave in all ends.
EMBROIDERING NOSE AND MOUTH
Using sewing pins, mark 2 sts between the eyes (Round 17), 3 sts apart (see photo in downloadable PDF). Mark another st at the center of both sts, in Round 15 below. Using the black cotton yarn and the marked sts as guides, make a horizontal st in Round 17, then make another vertical st from Round 15 to 16, wrapping around the previous horizontal stitch so it is pulled down into a V shape. Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
Using sewing pins, mark 2 sts between the eyes (Round 17), 3 sts apart (see photo in downloadable PDF). Mark another st at the center of both sts, in Round 15 below. Using the black cotton yarn and the marked sts as guides, make a horizontal st in Round 17, then make another vertical st from Round 15 to 16, wrapping around the previous horizontal stitch so it is pulled down into a V shape.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
ATTACHING EARS
Pin the Ears at the top of the Head between Rounds 19-23 and sew them in place.
