Notes

  • Blanket width can be adjusted by adding or subtracting multiples of 10 stitches. Each 10-stitch repeat measures approx. 1 ¾ inches (4.5 cm). Blanket Length can be adjusted by adding or subtracting multiples of 24 rows. Each 24 row repeat measures approx. 3 ¾ inch (9.5 cm). Adding length and width will require more yarn, so purchase accordingly.

CO 127 sts.
Note: Long tail cast-on will require approximately 8 feet (2.5 m) of tail.

Row 1 (RS): K1, P1, *P4, K5, P1; rep from * to last 5 sts, P4, K1.

Row 2 (WS): P1, K4, *K1, P5, K4; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1, P1.

Row 3-Row 4: Rep Row 1-2.

Row 5 (RS): K1, P1, *K3, P7; rep from * to last 5 sts, K3, P1, K1.

Row 6 (WS): P1, K1, P3, *K7, P3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1, P1.

CO 47 sts. The double stranded long tail cast-on method will require approximately 33 inches (84 cm) of tail, folded in half.

RIBBING EDGE:

Row 1: K1, *P1, K1; rep to end.

Row 2: P1, *K1, P1; rep to end.

Row 3-4: Rep Row 1-2.

Row 5: Rep Row 1.

Work Rows 1-24 of Seeded Basketweave Pattern twice,then work Rows 1-16 once more.

Rep the Ribbing Edge Rows 1-5.

Bind off in K1, P1 ribbing pattern.

Fold Hat in half with WS facing, so that the bind-off edge meets the cast-on edge. Seam both side edges closed leaving the bind-off/cast-on edge open. Weave in ends.
