WINGS (Make 2)
Use two strands of Color B held together.
Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (12 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 6. (18 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 2, inc)x 6. (24 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 3, inc)x 6. (30 sts)
Round 6: (Sc 4, inc)x 6. (36 sts)
Round 7: (Sc 5, inc)x 6. (42 sts)
Row 8: Ch1, fold Wing in half, aligning opposite sts; working through both layers, {(sc, ch1, 2dc) in same st, sk 1 st}x 10, (sc, ch1, 2dc) in last st.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the Wing to the Body
BEAK
Use two strands of Color B held together.
Round 1: Ch3, sk 1 ch, inc, 4sc in last ch; working on other side of ch-3, inc. (8 sts) st
Round 2: Sc 8. Sl st in the next st.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the Beak to the Head.
LEGS (Make 2)
Use two strands of Color B held together.
Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: (Sc, inc)x 3. (9 sts)
Rounds 3-24 (22 rounds): Sc 9.
Round 25: (Sc 2, inc)x 3. (12 sts)
Round 26: (Sc 3, inc)x 3. (15 sts)

Row 30: Flatten Leg, aligning opposite sts; insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers across row, turn. (12 sts)
Row 31: Ch 1, (sc, sk 1 st, 5dc in same st, sk 1 st)x 2, sc, sk 1 st, 5dc in same st, sc in last st. (3 shell sts)
Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in end.
HEAD & BODY
Use two strands of Color A held together.
Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (12 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 6. (18 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 5, inc)x 3. (21 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 6, inc)x 3. (24 sts)
Rounds 6-9 (4 rounds): Sc 24.

Stuff the Head.
Round 11: (Sc, dec)x 6. (12 sts)
Rounds 12-19 (8 rounds): Sc 12.

Stuff the Body.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn tail through each st of the last round and pull to close. Hide the yarn end inside the Body.
ASSEMBLY
ATTACHING THE EYES
Insert the eyes in Round 6 of the Head, 12 sts apart. Apply the glue to fix the eyes in place.
ATTACHING THE WINGS
Pin one edge of each Wing at Round 28 of the Body (see photo in downloadable PDF), then sew the Wings in place.
Secure each yarn end, then hide them inside the toy.
ATTACHING THE LEGS
Pin the Legs to the underside of the Body. Using a 15 inch (38 cm) long piece of Color B yarn and a tapestry needle, sew each Leg in place.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
ATTACHING THE BEAK
Pin the Beak between Rounds 6 and 8 of the Head and sew it in place.
Secure the yarn end, then hide it inside the toy.
