ATTACHING THE TAIL

Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.

ATTACHING THE PECTORAL FINS

Using sewing pins, pin the Pectoral Fins to the sides of the Body between Rounds 15 and 22 of the Body.
Using the yarn tail from each Fin, sew the Fins on the Body.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.

ATTACHING THE DORSAL FIN

Using sewing pins, pin the Dorsal Fin on the top of the Body between Rounds 17 and 27 of the Body (see photos in downloadable PDF).
Using the yarn tail from the Fin, sew the Fin on the Body.
Secure the yarn end, then hide it inside the toy.

EMBROIDERING THE EYEBROWS

Using two sewing pins for each eye, mark where you want to embroider the eyebrows. Position them one st away from the eye, slanting from Round 10 to 11 of the Body (see photo in downloadable PDF).
Using black cotton yarn, make a stitch between the marked sts for each eye.
Do not cut the yarn. Continue to embroider a smile.

EMBROIDERING THE SMILE

Using two sewing pins, mark 2 sts in Round 1 of the Body, 7 sts apart (see photo in downloadable PDF).
Using black cotton yarn, make a long stitch between the marked sts in the shape of a smile.
Make 2 tiny vertical sts over the long st, in the lower half of Round 1, 3 sts apart, to secure the smile shape.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.

EMBROIDERING THE ROSES

With the mohair yarn and tapestry needle, make 2 Woven Pinwheel Roses at the side of the dorsal fin.
Make 5 sts on the Body in a star/pinwheel shape.
Starting at the base of one of the stitches (near the center of the pinwheel), weave the yarn over one stitch, then under the next stitch, around and around, until the rose is formed.
Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
