EARS (MAKE 2)

Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (12 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 6. (18 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 5, inc)x 3. (21 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 3, inc, sc 3)x 3. (24 sts)
Rounds 6-8 (3 rounds): Sc 24.
Round 9: (Sc 6, dec)x 3. (21 sts)
Round 10: Sc 21.
Round 11: (Sc 5, dec)x 3. (18 sts)
Round 12: Sc 18.
Round 13: (Sc 4, dec)x 3. (15 sts) 
Round 14: Sc 15.
Round 15: (Sc 3, dec)x 3. (12 sts)
Rounds 16-17 (2 rounds): Sc 12.

Flatten the top of the Ear, aligning opposite sts; ch1, insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers to close (6 sc total).

Cut the yarn and fasten off.

HEAD

Round 1: 8sc in a Magic Ring. (8 sts)
Round 2: Inc around. (16 sts)
Round 3: (Sc, inc)x 8. (24 sts)
Round 4: (Sc 2, inc)x 8. (32 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 7, inc)x 4. (36 sts)
Round 6: (Sc 4, inc, sc 4)x 4. (40 sts)

In the next round, you will crochet the Ears on the Head. When indicated in the pattern, line the Ear up against the next stitches of the Head, insert your hook in the first st of the Ear, then insert your hook in the next st of the Head, then complete a sc through both layers. Continue to sc through both layers across the Ear (6 sc total).

Round 7: (Join first Ear) sc 6, sc 2, (join second Ear) sc 6, sc 26. (40 sts)
Rounds 8-12 (5 rounds): Sc 40.

Attach the eyes in 24 & th 31st sts of Round 7.

Round 13: (Dec)x 20. (20 sts) Round 14: (Sc 3, dec)x 4. (16 sts)

Stuff the Head. Do not fasten off.

BODY

Continue working from the Head.
Round 1: (Sc 3, inc)x 4. (20 sts)
Round 2: (Sc 2, inc, sc 2)x 4. (24 sts)
Round 3: Sc 24.
Round 4: (Sc 5, inc)x 4. (28 sts)
Round 5: (Sc 3, inc, sc 3)x 4. (32 sts)
Rounds 6-8 (3 rounds): Sc 32.

Stuff the Body.

Round 9: (Sc 2, dec)x 8. (24 sts)
Round 10: (Sc, dec)x 8. (16 sts)
Round 11: (Dec)x 8. (8 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using a tapestry needle, thread the yarn tail through each st of the last round and pull to close. Hide the yarn end inside the Body.

ARMS (MAKE 2)

Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Rounds 2-6 (5 rounds): Sc 6.

Flatten the top of the Arm, aligning opposite sts; ch1, insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers to close (3 sc total).

Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the Arm to the Body.

LEGS (MAKE 2)

Round 1: 6sc in a Magic Ring. (6 sts)
Rounds 2-4 (3 rounds): Sc 6.

Flatten the top of the Leg, aligning opposite sts; ch1, insert hook in next 2 opposite sts and make a sc, continue making sc through both layers to close (3 sc total).

Fasten off, leaving a long tail to attach the Leg to the Body.

ATTACHING THE ARMS

Using sewing pins, pin the Arms between Rounds 1-3 of the Body. Place the arms slightly tilted so the paws reach forward (see photos in downloadable pattern PDF).

Using the yarn tails from the Arms, sew the Arms to the Body. Also sew the hands to the belly.

Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.

ATTACHING THE LEGS

Using sewing pins, pin the Legs to the underside of the Body.

Using the yarn tails from the Legs, sew the Legs to the Body.

Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.

EMBROIDERING THE NOSE AND MOUTH

With black cotton yarn, embroider the nose centered between the eyes by making 3 sts, one on top of the other, spanning 3 sts of Round 8 of the Head (see photos in downloadable pattern PDF).

Next, make a vertical st between Rounds 8 and 10 of the Head.

Do not cut the yarn.

EMBROIDERING THE EYEBROWS

With the same black cotton yarn, continue embroidering the eyebrows. First, using sewing pins, mark 2 sts above each eye in Round 5 of the Head (see photo below). Embroider a st between the 2 marked sts above each eye. Secure the yarn ends, then hide them inside the toy.
